Alan Evans

Al brings to SRI his expertise as a business development, online and traditional marketing strategist supporting the firm's efforts and consulting engagements. Al also provides direction to SRI for its strategic efforts in Web-based portal development using his software product management and entrepreneurial experiences.

Prior to SRI, during his long-term involvement with online media, the Web and Internet, Al worked in industrial, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, healthcare and government markets. His background includes engagements with General Electric, SmithKline Beecham, Vice President Al Gore's Reinventing Government Project (REGO), CBS Radio, the State University of New York and various Regional Hospitals, managing Web development and online marketing projects. From 1997 to 2007 he worked with the University at Albany's Center for Advanced Thin Film Technology, which became the Center for Nanoscale Science & Engineering (CNSE) and is a multi-billion dollar University, Government and Business mega-research center, now know as Albany Nanotech, to develop successful Internet initiatives and software applications.

At GE Fanuc, Al was a Software Product Manager for the CIMPLICITY Systems division where he managed all Web development, systems integration and online and electronic media marketing programs for this joint venture between GE and FANUC of Japan which provides software systems for robotic and automated manufacturing systems.

After graduating from Cornell University's School of Industrial and Labor Relations, Al began his career as a Business Analyst with Dun & Bradstreet and later became the Director of Marketing for High Technology Systems (HTS) a specialty high performance materials startup, located in Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute's (RPI) Technology Park responsible for the commercialization of NASA's LARC-13 technology for industrial, electronics and aerospace applications.

Al Founded Matrix Intermedia Corp., and was responsible for developing one of the first Web-based content management systems, WebDirect, which is still powering numerous Websites around the Capital Region today.
