|
This course addresses specific fundamentals and skills associated with an emergency response to a WMD incident. The course provides detailed technical information and includes hands-on practice of required procedures. Throughout the course, participants are reminded of the necessity of teamwork among all responding agencies because, as emergency responders, they must support and facilitate the operations of fire and medical services and other responding agencies. The course prepares representatives of state, county/parish, and municipal emergency response agencies to perform a critical emergency responder role safely and effectively during an incident involving WMD agents. This course provides law enforcement officers with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to assist in the prevention and deterrence of terrorist incidents by using Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) awareness-level knowledge. As such, it does not provide detailed technical information nor does it include hands-on practice of actions required of law enforcement officers in WMD situations. Prerequisites: None |

This course based on the current edition of the NFPA and OSHA guidelines will provide the Law Enforcement Officer with the tool need to quickly assess the hazardous materials incident, make the proper notifications and take appropriate NON-intervention actions. Prerequisites: None |

This course based on the current edition of the NFPA and OSHA guidelines will provide the Law Enforcement Officer who will be making an OffENSIFFE entry into a contaminated environment with the tool needed to perform investigative duties in a safe and effective manner.. Prerequisites: LE 104 |

This course will give the Crime Scene investigator the skills required to make entry and work in a hazardous atmosphere such as a hazardous materials release or a WMD crime scene. The skills presented here will also carry over to other incidents such as Drug Labs and Environmental Crimes. Prerequisites: LE 105 |

This course is customized to the agencies specific needs and wants the skills learned in the course are deeply rooted in the Israeli Martial Art of Commando Krav Maga as well as the Philippine Martial Art Kali. Focus is on Edged weapon defense as well as an armed attacker. CALL for contact hours. Prerequisites: None |

This course consists of both medical and tactical instruction. The SRI faculty consists of both tactical and medical instructors. The tactical instructors have many years of experience in law enforcement and military special operations as tactical team leaders and tactical operators. The medical instructors are residency trained and board certified in emergency medicine and are also active on SWAT teams as emergency medical providers. Prerequisites: None |
