NIMS provides a consistent nationwide template to enable all government, private-sector, and nongovernmental organizations to work together during domestic incidents. This course introduces NIMS and explains the purpose, principles, key components and benefits of NIMS. The course also contains "planning Activity" exercises that provide participants with an opportunity to complete some planning tasks during this course. This course will introduce students to the Incident Command System (ICS), providing a foundation for higher-level ICS training. The course will cover the history, features, principles, and organizational structure of ICS, as well as the relationship between ICS and the National Incident Management System (NIMS). This course is NIMS compliant and meets the NIMS "Baseline Training" requirement for I-100. Contact hours: 6 |

This course will enable personnel to operate efficiently within the Incident Command System (ICS) during an incident or event. The course will focus on the management of single resources. Contact hours: 12 |

The National Response plan, or NRP, specifies how the resources of the federal government will work in concert with State, local, and tribal governments and the private sector to respond to Incidents of National Significance. The NRP is predicated on the National Incident Management System, or NIMS. This course introduces you to the NRP, including the concept of operations upon which the plan is built, roles and responsibilities of the key players, and the organizational structures used to manage these resources. The NRP provides a framework to ensure that we can all work together when our Nation is threatened. This course meets training requirements to become NIMS compliant. Contact hours: 4 |
